The anniversary of the Hohenstaufen line is being celebrated in 2011 in Göppingen and Schwäbisch Gmünd. A rail bus operated on the line between Göppingen and Schwäbisch Gmünd until the line was abandoned. At the Göppingen end of the line the train was affectionately called "Josefle" and at the Schwäbisch Gmünd end "Klepperle". Märklin is producing a special model of this rail bus set in a limited edition of 999 pieces for the 100th anniversary. The rail bus set is initially being sold exclusively to residents in the region. The 3-unit "Josefle – Klepperle" rail bus will be delivered starting in June. It comes packaged in a suitable collector's display case made of wood, the back wall of which can be custom decorated with 4 different backdrops of the rail line. A special feature of the wood display case is the base: It is lettered on one side with "Josefle" Göppingen - Schwäbisch Gmünd and on the other side with "Klepperle" Schwäbisch Gmünd - Göppingen, so that anyone can turn the base to show the train as he or she knew it. Advance reservations for this rail bus set in H0 Gauge have been available for 50 Euros since January at the ipunkt (information center) at the Göppingen city hall. Snorting, chuffing trains or tracks can no longer be found on the alignment between Göppingen and Schwäbisch Gmünd, but it continues to be very popular as a bicycle, hiking, and jogging route. The anniversary will be celebrated on June 26 in Maitis, and on July 30 and 21 in Straßdorf.
